Intensity and Immersion: The COC1501 Academic Sprint

Posted on May 8, 2026May 8, 2026 by Helen

The academic schedule at Lapalala is designed to be as rigorous as the environment itself. Our days were packed with back-to-back lecture sessions, immediately followed by hands-on practicals to cement our learning. We dove deep into tree and grass identification, learning to read the landscape through its flora. This immersive approach—balancing group assignments, field data collection, and final exams—tested our endurance and ensured that the transition from textbook theory to practical application was seamless.
